Daily?! Ha ha, no not here. For a daily or weekly dose of baby images you can follow Starla Wise Photography on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. Since most of my time is occupied behind the camera, my blog is randomly updated. So check in often. This is where I'll share recent sessions, studio information, and maybe a personal story or two. Thank you for taking the time...

Newborn Photographer ~ Oakley Brentwood

I am so excited to share this post that I couldn’t wait to officially go down and take the photo myself. (Thank You Marci for sharing the final picture with me!)

While 5×7’s and 8×10’s do have their place in the portrait world, as time has gone on and clients order larger and larger portraits I become accustomed to them and LOVE the impact they can make.  So much that I’ve had to upgrade some of the frames in my house adding thicker mating and frames so that my 8×10’s will stop yelling at me when I walk by them “I should have been a 16×20!” … The point of my rambling is that this portrait when it arrived was about as tall as my 4 year old,  the bar has been raised yet again and I may have to order my next family portraits in wall paper!  The entire frame measures  52″ by 42″ and I absolutely love it!  Thank you to the Sturgills and Lumpys Diner in Antioch (where you can see this cutie in life size!)

This picture hanging in your diner is a huge compliment to me and I can’t thank you enough again for allowing me to capture your little man!

Newborn Baby Photographer ~ Oakley Pleasant Hill Bay Area

January 11th was this little guys original due date which means as of today I wouldn’t even have captured these images if he had stuck to the schedule!  But I think he somehow caught wind of all the things his big sister was getting for Christmas because he came just in time to see Santa! As if 10 days old isn’t precious enough, I am always awe struck when I see a delicate miracle known as a “preemie”.  Congratulations to the “C” family on the birth of your handsome and healthy child and from the bottom of my heart, Thank you for traveling to have me capture this time for you.

A Little behind on my blogging, bare with me while I catch up!

I stepped a little out of my zone with this session. Little “J’s” parents are very creative, fun, and a bit unconventional. While flattered that they asked me to photograph their little one for them I knew that my classic and natural style needed a little extra something to suit them.  So after we got most of the “Starla Wise Photography Signature poses” 😉   out of the way we had a little fun!  PS:  Names are not disclosed to protect the uh… innocent  😉  who has,  allegedly  stolen many hearts!

Newborn Maternity Photographer ~ Bay Area ~ Oakley Brentwood

I have always wanted to do something that makes a difference, that I know has an impact.  I can’t tell you how many times I have heard, “I want to have another baby just so you can take pictures!”  I  laugh because I don’t know how many babies will actually be born because of my photography but if they are I will wear that badge with honor!

I have so many business goals for 2013 and I am so excited to get started.  I had quite a few inquiries for maternity sessions and so I am currently working on launching a maternity to newborn package.  Thank you to a few patient models this past year who let me fumble through a maternity session to build my skills and style.

Happy New Year and may you all be blessed with happy healthy families.

Newborn Baby Photographer ~ Bay Area ~ Oakley Brentwood Clayton

I was so excited to receive a phone call requesting me to photograph newborn twins I think I may have squealed out loud!  Due to their early arrival into this world we had to wait a few weeks out to get them in. I admit I was a little nervous that A) There would be two of them! B) They were a little older than I usually photograph, and C) Their big brother wanted to be in a few! I thought I was going to have my hands full, and well… literally I did 😉

But when this family arrived at the door I was greeted by the most polite little man who looked me straight in the eyes and said, “Hi nice to meet you” and two of the nicest parents each carrying a car seat with these beautiful little girls inside!   The hardest part of this session was helping to decide if they should order the 24×30 or 24×36 canvas.

There is nothing more rewarding for me as a photographer than seeing my work displayed and hearing things like, “..already put up the pictures in the girls room and they give the room such a calming, loving, and warm feeling.”

Thank you so much for asking me to capture this time for you and Congratulations to the beautiful additions to your already wonderful family.
